Vintage Lingerie!

I always think January is a nice time to take stock of your lingerie wardrobe. Since many of us receive new pieces as gifts at holiday time, (pretty new gowns, warm jammies and robes, fresh panties and camisoles) it's a little easier to do some eliminating from our chest of drawers. There are lots of sales happening on these items, so you can fill in your specific needs. Plus, it's always nice to be ready with new underpinnings when you start bringing home and wearing your new Spring wardrobe purchases.

Here are a few little things that would be so fun to fill your lingerie chest with...

I love this corset gown from La Perla with its tucking detail and hanky hem. This gently used piece was actually worn by a celebrity. I wonder who. Hmmm...... From The Kaliman

From North Brooklyn Dry Good is this lovely bed jacket with all the feminine bells and whistles...lace, tucking, ruffles, ribbons and a little Peter Pan collar.

This divine nightie is 1940's vintage in the most beautiful blue crystal pleating and ruffles. This is Hollywood glamour, no? From Mad Mak Closet.

Three pair of seamed nylon stockings is what you get here from I See France. Every girl should have several pair of these in her lingerie wardrobe!

This pink satin slip and panties set is trimmed in delicate coffee colored lace, and is an unworn trousseau set with the sales ticket from 1956 included! What a wonderful collectors piece for anyone who loves decadent lingerie! Tuppence and Doolie.

I just love old Vanity Fair lingerie! I can remember how much I always loved their ethereal advertising images of elegant ladies with chiffon blowing in a pretend breeze! This piece is especially girly with its full skirt, and ribbon sash decorating the waist.

Ooh la la...
I've been looking through the lingerie racks at the sales for the last couple of days and haven't been able to settle on anything new to add to my drawers. I love the last picture of the item from Vanity Fair.

Lingerie is very important in any woman's wardrobe and is in no way tied to the status of your love life. I always feel more feminine when I have some of my nicest pieces underneath my clothes - even if I'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt and scrubbing greasy dishes!
