LOOKING AHEAD TO A NEW WEEK

AND OPENING THE DOOR...

TO ALL THE WONDERFUL POSSIBILITIES OF WHAT'S ON THE OTHER SIDE!

SUNDAY...

I love using my fancy dishes literally every day of the week, but I think it is especially nice on Sunday mornings  to use pretty things.  Serving chocolate espresso in this Pot de Creme set,  with their handy little lids would be just like having a lovely Paris breakfast with your sweetheart in an outdoor cafe!  Now, croissant or eclair?  Hhmmmm.....
From Period Elegance on etsy.

 MONDAY...

This vintage Chanel suit would be perfect for the ladies luncheon I've been invited to attend.  The three-quarter length sleeves are a favorite style of mine, and I'm loving how the entire suit is edged in this beautiful trim work.  I see some versatility here, too...jacket with slacks or jeans, skirt with a crisp white shirt and stunning belt.  Such a flattering peachy-pink!  From Consign Couture.

 TUESDAY...

This Reed and Barton sterling silver spoon would be the sweetest baby gift for a friend who's expecting a little boy!  I love giving vintage things of quality as gifts to friends and family.  The little puffed heart at the top of the handle even has a little jingle sound...what boy wouldn't love that?  It's available from Memere's Attic and comes with the box and velvet pouch.  Adorable!

WEDNESDAY...
This lovely cut crystal and silver plate set is by Mappin and Webb, Silversmiths to both Queen Elizabeth and The Prince of Wales.  The Anglophile in me likes it already!  And since I've planned on having a big salad for dinner using delicious veggies purchased at the local farmers market last Saturday morning, I think it would be perfection  to place on the table for oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.  Dragonfly Studios 74 has lots of delightful things to look at in their shop!

 THURSDAY...

A fun night out with the girls requires a fabulous top to glam up the dark wash jeans I'll probably wear, and this vintage Pucci knocks me out!  The color combinations of hand sewn beads and sequins is so cool, not to mention the classic geometric shapes and swirls of his prints.  A little glam shoe, a chic cocktail bag, and I'm ready to order a Cosmo!  From Stated Style.

 FRIDAY...

It's sish-ka-bob for a few friends at our house this evening and we're dining al fresco! These mid-century stainless steel skewers have the loveliest rosewood handles and are certainly more dramatic to bring to the table than bamboo ones!  I love how the bright colors of all the marinated veggies look, especially this time of year when they are at their most luscious and bountiful!  From Fox and Thomas.

 SATURDAY...
There's nothing like a Summer Saturday afternoon wedding to break out a gorgeous hat, now is there?  Fashioned out of the palest beige straw and soft pink velvet roses, this chic chapeau from Fifi's Finds, would co-ordinate beautifully with the soft mint-green shantung sheath and bolero jacket I plan on wearing!  Swoon...!

GLAMOROUS GETAWAY ESSENTIALS

So you and your sweetheart have made a last minute plan for a romantic getaway...just the two of you.  A girl needs to be sure to pack a few sexy but elegant items for candlelit dinners, dancing until dawn and whatever else she might need to be beautifully ready for. Here a few fun and fabulous items you might want to consider packing...

 LIKE THESE...

A GREAT LITTLE BLACK DRESS

This vintage number is just so flirty, I think it's perfect for a sexy night out, don't you?  It's a wonderful example of a 1960's cocktail dress.  The fitted sheath is caged by a sheer layer of chiffon with over-the-top ostrich feathers embellishing the hem.  And if that weren't enough, the neckline features a statement-style brooch for some serious sparkle!  I LOVE this piece, and I think it works just as well for a special occasion  today as it did when it was originally made!  It's from XTABAY Vintage and you will have a ball browsing her etsy  store!

GLAM COCKTAIL JEWELRY

I love the idea a packing a matching set of great costume jewelry to mix and match for different looks at a moments notice.  The set pictured above of the bracelet, brooch, earrings and necklace would be a winner for versatility and glitz, from VWayne, also on etsy.  These kinds of vintage sets are so much prettier than just about anything new you can find, and the seller suggests using the pin in your your hair.  I think it would be marvelous attached to a simple evening bag, or at the bottom of a plunging neckline...front or back!

A GREAT PAIR OF SEXY SHOES

Black Suede 1950's pointy toe stilettos.  Is there anything else to say?  From the aptly named

KILLER SUNGLASSES
A stunning pair of sunglasses are essential for early mornings after the night before.  Perfect for alfresco breakfast, brunch or lunch not to mention critical when lounging by the pool.  Aren't these 80's Claude Montana zebra frames to die for...the French do drama so well, no?  Available from Kerson Gallery PS.

LUSCIOUS LINGERIE
Of course a get away like this requires some yummy lingerie, and there are really some beauties available on etsy.  This seller, Boudoir Queen, always has the prettiest, most unique pieces in her shop.  Is there anything more romantic than a lovely nightie, anyway?

COLORFUL LUGGAGE
Now I know why basic black luggage is something everyone likes for the basics, but for fun excursions, why not pack your pretties in something a little retro?  This crazy green is a great set of several pieces to adapt to different needs. This shop owner, White Bear Studios US, pokes fun at the avocado color as being so out it's in!  It certainly would be easy to spot your suitcases out of a sea of neutrals on the airport baggage turnstyle!

I Hope You Get to Travel to Somewhere Glamorous!
